FORT WAYNE, IN (July 12th, 2025) – Despite being eliminated from playoff contention, the Kings Hammer FC Cincinnati men could still play a part in who does and doesn’t make it from the Valley Division when they travel to face Fort Wayne FC for the season finale.
Following a run of three straight losses, the outcome of the division title could still rest in the hands of KHFC. Only a singular playoff spot for the Central Conference Playoffs remains open, and that spot must go to one of two teams: Fort Wayne FC or Lexington SC. Fort Wayne sits atop the Valley Division with 25 points, but Lexington SC is stalking just behind at 23 points. A FWFC loss paired with a Lexington win would see Lexington jump Fort Wayne in the standings, and that’s where KHFC Cincinnati plays a part, as they make the trip over to Fort Wayne for the final matchday.
KHFC Cincinnati are already locked into their finishing position for the season, being too far behind and ahead of 4th and 6th place respectively to move up or down. At this point, it’s about playing for pride, and what better way to end your season than a win. That’s exactly what they’ll be playing for, but the idea of stopping a division rival from making the playoffs on the final day could be just as sweet.
While Fort Wayne may be in first for the Valley Division, their games against KHFC Cincinnati have been far from comprehensive. In the first matchup all the way back in Matchweek #4, a 3-1 final scoreline flattered Fort Wayne as they struggled to see off the challenge from the Hammers. They’re rematch in Matchweek #7 was even closer, as it would take a late second half strike for FWFC to see out a 1-0 victory.
