SYMMES TOWNSHIP, OHIO (June 23rd, 2025) – It was an exciting night for the KHFC Cincinnati ladies at home this weekend as they came away from their match against Dayton Dutch Lions FC with 3 more points, and a potential spot in the playoffs for the first time in KHFC history!
This past Saturday, KHFC Cincinnati hosted the Dayton Dutch Lions’ USL W League team for the first time this season. The match started off with a bang as KHFC’s Taylor White chipped the goalie and found the back of the net almost immediately in the 4th minute, putting the score at 1-0 KHFC early in the match.
The KHFC Cincinnati girls were just getting started. Two more shots came fast in the next few minutes, from KHFC’s Avery May and then Emma Frey. KHFC would be awarded a corner kick in the 13th minute, and after bouncing around the middle of the box, White would find the ball to her chest and settle it for a beautiful shot into the goal. The scoreboard read 2-0 KHFC in the 14th minute.
The KHFC Cincinnati ladies dominated the possession on the pitch for most of the first half. The match felt a bit stagnate in between the 15th and 28th minute, until KHFC’s Lauren Flax broke through the Dayton’s defense into the box to secure another goal for the team, putting KHFC up 3-0. The rest of the first half finished out with a bit of back and forth from both sides.
At halftime, KHFC made a couple key substitutions, bringing on Rylie Neimeyer and Liana Yara for Brooklynn Miltenburger and first half goal-scorer Lauren Flax. The action quickly started up again with KHFC Cincinnati taking more shots towards Dayton’s goal in the 50th and 51st minute, and Dayton’s Riley Marques receiving a yellow card warning in the 53rd minute. KHFC added another tick to the scoreboard in the 57th minute, with Peyton Smith taking the shot past Dayton’s keeper, assisted by White, bringing the score to 4-0 KHFC.
Following another KHFC substitution, Ava Arengo coming on for Emma Frey, in the 58th minute, White followed it up by completing her hat trick, scoring her third goal of the night in the 61st minute. Shortly thereafter, Dayton’s Morgan Shirley was able to make an impressive save in the 67th minute, but couldn’t block Mckenzie Carle as she came in hot to score KHFC’s 6th goal of the night.
KHFC’s White already may have already had 3 goals under her belt, but she wasn’t done yet. White scored her 4th and the teams final goal of the night with a midfield service from KHFC’s Sydney Taylor in the 82nd minute, putting KHFC up 7-0.
Dayton made some last minute substitutions to try to get a goal on the board, bringing in Winegarner and Landolfo for Bailey and Marques, but were not able to capitalize on any opportunities. The final score was 7-0, KHFC Cincinnati.
With this win under their belt, KHFC Cincinnati is one step closer to their official spot at the 2025 USL W League Playoffs. The ladies are back in action on the road to take on Lexington SC at their home stadium on Tuesday, June 24th for an 8pm kickoff.
