Covington, KY (February 13th, 2025) – Kings Hammer FC Cincinnati is excited to announce the appointment of Ryan Handbury as the club’s new USL League Two Head Coach. Along with his deep roots in the Cincinnati soccer community, Handbury brings a wealth of experience both as a player and coach of some of the highest levels of amateur soccer.
Handbury, began his soccer career as a member of the Nottingham Forest FC youth academy in England from 2003-2006. Following the 2006 season, he ventured across the pond to join the University of Dayton soccer team. Anchoring the backline from 2006-2010, Handbury would go on to earn multiple accolades including being named to the A-10 Conference First Team and NSCAA Mid-Atlantic All-Region Second Team during his senior year.
Following his collegiate playing experience, he would take his first steps into coaching joining Kings Hammer Soccer Club in 2011. Working his way up the coaching ladder, Handbury has earned his UEFA B and USSF B licenses and has served most recently as the club’s Cincinnati North Director. Additionally, Handbury served on the staff of Kings Hammer FC during the 2020-2023 seasons as assistant coach.
Joining Handbury on the sidelines this year will be Tony Awor, the club’s USL Academy Head Coach and Lou Liberatore as Goalkeeper coach.
