PITTSBURGH, PA (July 4th, 2025) – The Kings Hammer FC Cincinnati Ladies will celebrate their Fourth of July with some on-field fireworks during the first round of the USL W League Playoffs.
After winning the Valley Division for the first time in club history, all focus for the KHFC ladies turns to the first round of the playoffs as they will look to keep the momentum alive as they travel to Pittsburgh
It was an all around team effort this season, with notable players at every position on the pitch. The Lady Hammers scored a division-best 38 goals while only allowing 10 on defense en route to posting seven wins and three draws in just 10 games, all while clinching the division in the second to last match with a 4-3 win over Lexington.
Along with winning the division also comes an automatic berth to the USL W League Playoffs, which marks another first for the squad. While their first ever playoff game will take place in Pittsburgh, it’s not the Riveters that the Lady Hammers will be facing with the first round being held in the Steel City for the entire Central Conference. Instead, KHFC will match up with Detroit City FC, champions of the Great Lakes Division.
DCFC boasts one of the best defenses in the entirety of the USL W League, allowing just six goals in their 10 game season, meaning KHFC’s leading goal scorers Sam Erbach and Lauren Flax will have their work cut out for them. They will have extra support at the back though, as KHFC captain Jade Rehberger returns from injury just in time for this historic match to partner with All-American Nat Bain.
And what better day than the Fourth of July for the first playoff match in KHFC ladies history to take place. While some people will wait until it’s dark to launch their fireworks, the Lady Hammers will launch theirs from kickoff at 10:30 a.m. Fans are encouraged to make the trip up to Pittsburgh to support the ladies when they make history or catch the game via Sports Engine Play.
