LEXINGTON, KY (June 28th, 2025) – The Kings Hammer FC Cincinnati Ladies tied with Lexington SC for their final rematch of the season.
After a 30-minute delay, the first half started off slow with consistent back-and-forth action. Both Lexington SC and Kings Hammer FC were hungry and swift, resulting in impressive defending and no goals in the first half. In the 10th minute, Lexington SC subbed #4 Anna Burchett out of the match and brought #18 Natalie Mitchell onto the pitch. Following that, KHFC’s Lilly Yordy recieved a corner kick. As the action continued, in the 40th minute, Lexington SC’s #20 Lauren Gogall was issued a yellow card due to a late tackle. 2 minutes of stoppage time added to the first half.
To start off the second half, Kings Hammer FC had key substitutions. KHFC brought #20 Amber Branum, #2 McKenzie Carle, and #1 Maria Galley into the match, taking out #7 Abby Townsend, #8 Lilly Yordy, and #0 Lexi Grundler. 2 Minutes into the second half, Lexington SC brought in #13? and took out #9 Harper Ward. In the same minute, #20 Lauren Gogal received her second yellow card, resulting in a red card ejection due to another late tackle. In the 60th minute, KHFC subsuited #11 Avery May and #3 Peyton Smith, removing #5 Bella Mcfarland and #12 Kennedy Clark. In the 70th minute, Lexington SC brought #11 Emily Paul and #12 Gianna Camuso into the match, removing #4 Anna Burchett and #17 Avrea Del Carmen. Following the substuition, KHFC’s Mckenzie Carle shot, but was intercepted by Lexington SC’s goalkeeper, Amber Brandon. Soon after the save, KHFC’s goalkeeper, Maria Galley had an impressed save resulting in a loud cheer from the KHFC bench. 4 Minutes were added to the match. Final score remained even, 0-0.
KHFC’s Head Coach, Bronson Gamble reflected on this season.
“I am extremely proud of the accomplishments this season. Not only is it the first undefeated season, but the most goals scored and least goals conceited. It’s a testament to the ladies hardwork, dedication, and the reward is a post-season birth. Thank you to all of our fans and the amazing Kings Hammer youth pipeline that continues to produce the future.”
He added on elaborating on how KHFC has grown and improved.
“You can see our growth as a team as our chemistry, the players dedication, and desire to fight for each other has been on full display. The USL W league gives a great opportunity for these pre-proffesionals to flourish, but it becomes special when the players not only are fighting for their future careers, but the team becomes the most important thing. This group has an infectious presences about them that you know will thrive under the brightest lights.”
He lastly stated,
“It was a historic season, but now we have closed that door and opened a new chapter. Playoffs is win or go home and we want to make this thing last as long as possible and bring a national trophy back to cincinnati.”
