FORT WAYNE, IN (May 31, 2025) – After playing out a scoreless draw Wednesday night against Dayton Dutch Lions FC, the Kings Hammer FC Cincinnati Men will continue their road trip up north to Fort Wayne, Indiana.
KHFC came into the first away game of the season against Dayton off a win, and no doubt had hopes to repeat that effort on the road. While both defenses stood tall, the offenses couldn’t match, meaning the Hammers left Dayton with only a point.
“Obviously, we would’ve liked a different result against Dayton, but we’re focused on learning from it and moving forward,” said KHFC Head Coach Tony Awor about the team’s performance. “Fort Wayne is a strong side, and we’re preparing accordingly. We have belief in our group and look forward to getting back to our attacking rhythm this weekend.”
One point is good enough though to keep KHFC within three points of first place, where Lexington SC and Matchday #3’s opponent Fort Wayne FC sit with seven points. KHFC also has a game in hand on both clubs, only playing two so far as compared to their three.
Fort Wayne will also come off a Wednesday midweek game which ended in a 2-0 home win against a Kings Hammer team, albeit KHFC Columbus. KHFC Cincinnati’s work will be cut out for them as Fort Wayne boasts the best attack and best defense in the Valley Division. Then again, there’s no such thing as an easy game in USL League Two.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at Bishop John D’Arcy Stadium in Fort Wayne. Fans are encouraged to travel to Fort Wayne to support the boys or watch the game stream on Sports Engine Play.
